Antalya Airport is the second biggest airport of Turkey referring to air traffic numbers. Especially in the summer season there are many charter operations from almost all countries of Europe and Asia.
Besides charter flights, there are tariff flights to Antalya from some major cities of Europe and Russia operated by several airline companies. Unfortunately the number of the destinations directly connnected to Antalya is limited and the frequency of the flights may differ referring to seasonal volumes. To reach Antalya all year round regardless of seasonal facts is always possible with Turkish Airlines, the national airline company of Turkey.
Turkish Airlines connects Antalya to major 118 international destinations all around the world by connection flights via Istanbul Ataturk Airport. The connection flights are very well organised in order to minimize waiting hours in the airport. Turkish Airlines is known as one of the best operated airlines in the world with its high quality ground and on board services. Turkish Airlines has a very young and modern fleet of total 102 aircrafts at the moment and continue to increase the number of the aircrafts and destinations.

Getting Around
Antalya is a walkable city and you can explore the place on foot. Alternatively, using the public transport system is optional as it is light on the wallet. It is efficient, inexpensive and there is a range of public transportation to choose from - trams, mini-busses, taxi cabs, buses and dolmus.
Bus
Buses are the best way to get around Antalya. Weaving in and out of the city streets, they go through all the major tourist attractions in the city. Fares are low and all buses are air conditioned.
If you are travelling outside Antalya, you will have to go to the main bus terminal first and then board the outbound bus. The bus terminal also has bus services to and from the airport every two hours.
There are public inexpensive and expensive buses ferrying passengers to the airport. The expensive buses called ‘Havas' are more frequent and they leave from Güllük PTT. The inexpensive public buses depart every one hour and cost around 1 New Turkısh Lıra.
The inexpensive public bus to the city can be hailed from the blue ‘D' sign near the taxi sign at the international terminal.
Dolmus
The dolmus is exclusive to Turkey. It literally translates to ‘filled up' and is a big taxicab or a station wagon that runs on a particular route. Dolmus stations are normally near all public transport stations. Ideally a dolmus departs only after it has filled up, but in Antalya it goes by the schedule and does not wait to be filled up. Naturally the speed of a half-filled dolmus is like that of a turtle, in the hope of finding prospective passengers. The fares are cheap and depend on the distance of the scheduled trip.
Taxis
The best part of hiring a Turkish taxi is that it is a metered fare. So there is no question of getting swindled by the cabbie. There are two different taxi rates - after midnight to 6 am costs 50% more than in the daytime. The fares to popular destinations are displayed in Euro for the benefit of tourists.
Fair taxi rates - 0.80 - 1 TRY per km.
Fare to the airport - approximately 15 Euro during the day.
A taxi ride from the airport to the city costs over 20 Euros.
Tramway
The quaint tramway, which was a gift from the German city of Nuremberg, is still around in Antalya. It connects Konyaalti Beach in the western part of the city to Antalya Museum in the eastern part and runs every 30 minutes. The tram snakes through all the tourist attractions in the city and this leisured sightseeing costs just 1 TRY per person.
Rent a Car
Like all international destinations, car rentals are popular in Antalya. They are available at the bus terminal, airport and city centre. It is fairly easy to drive around the city provided you follow the destination signs and abide by the non-parking restrictions. Majority of the locals speak and understand English so in case you get lost you can always pull over and ask for directions.
Avoid taking the car to go to Cumhuriyet, Atatürk, Isiklar and the old city as finding a parking slot is very difficult. Grab a city map from the tourist information desk before you step on the accelerator.
Bicycle
Exploring the city on a bicycle is not advisable. The roads tend to get crowded and are often dangerous. However, you can bike along the seaside and enjoy the breathtaking view.
